Team Hope

My dad has been battling brain cancer since he was diagnosed in September. Since then, I've done what I know to help, and that is to heal with food. His health has dramatically declined, but I'm not giving up hope. None of us are. Above is an image of my father standing on stage at the Seattle Symphony after we had the incredible chance to listen to the symphony while they rehearsed on stage. It was a gift for my father's 60th birthday in November. These past couple months I've been overwhelming busy moving into a 102 year-old house that Mark and I remodeled, busy working for a fantastic start-up company and busy helping my father battle cancer. When I am able, I'll be posting a few cancer fighting recipes with you all.  Next project is to plan a fundraiser for his medical bills. For friends, family or kind strangers who want to support my father prior to the event, I have a donation page called Team Hope where they can do that.

Woah Melissa. I was wondering what was going on, as it seemed like there was a medical concern of some sort (via FB) but I wasn't sure what. Glad to know you are such a strong daughter, you are amazing! I'd love to help cook, donate, and do what we can. Thanks for letting us know, and know we'll be sending all sorts of positive healing thoughts your dad's way!

Me too, definitely let me know if you do a food-related fundraiser - I'm very happy to help organize, bake, anything. And even if it's not food-related and you need help stuffing envelopes, or putting up fliers, I'm nearby!

Take care, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Hey Melissa. I kind of know how you feel as my husband has been battling a malignant brain tumour for the past three years.
He has done wonderfully following Jeanne Wallace's nutrition advice and we have learnt so much about food through the healing process.
Would love to know more about your dad's cancer. We can probably swap notes on recipes.
Keep staying positive - that's half the battle won.
